Malaga clinical says Gracia

Malaga boss Javi Gracia said his side had been clinical in front of goal in the 4-1 Copa del Rey demolition of Deportivo la Coruna.

Los Blanquiazules scored three times in the final 31 minutes to blow away rivals Depor 5-2 on aggregate and book a last 16 clash with Levante.

The teams were level at 1-1 on the night after Roque Santa Cruz’s 51st-minute opener was cancelled out by Helder Postiga six minutes later.

But Malaga came on strong towards the end of the game, Jose Recio putting them ahead before Santa Cruz and Nacho Camacho wrapped things up late on.

“The game was equal but in the second half we were more clinical, aggressive and decisive, which allowed us to win,” Gracia told reporters post-match.

“The fans would like to win every game but we now face a very demanding schedule, although we are happy and will try to prepare in the best manner possible,” he maintained.
