Contra happy at Getafe stroll

Getafe boss Cosmin Contra said he was happy at his team’s stroll through to the last 16 of the Copa del Rey with a 2-1 victory at Eibar.

The Madrid side were already 3-0 up from the first leg at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez and first-half goals from Vigaray and Diego Castro made it an easy night’s work for Contra’s men, Federico Piovaccari getting a consolation for the Basques after the break.

“During the week I told the players they had to score so we could relax and in the first half hour we got two goals, so they learned the lesson well,” the Rumanian told a Press conference.

“I was pleased with the effort but it’s going to be difficult in the next round against Almeria, considering we have to go there first.”

Contra also had words for Pedro Leon, who returned to the starting line-up following his dispute with the club and played the full 90 minutes.

“I’m happy with how Pedro played, as I am with everyone. He did a good job but still has a little more to do to aid his recovery.”
