Berizzo happy with Celta display

Celta Vigo boss Eduardo Berizzo said he was happy with his side’s performance in the 3-1 Copa del Rey defeat of Las Palmas.

The Galicians went through 4-3 on aggregate thanks to Fabian Orellana’s 92nd-minute winner, after Nauzel Aleman had levelled the tie for the islanders following goals for the home side from Joaquin Larrivey and Santi Mina.

“I’m happy with how my team played and for the victory,” the Argentine told a Press conference.

“Perhaps we didn’t manage things too well when we were 2-0 ahead as their goal came from a corner in our favour and we got caught on the break.

“But I felt if it went to extra-time we’d have scored more, although Orellana’s goal was a reward for all our efforts.

“I hope we continue to play like this on Friday against Almeria,” asserted Berizzo, who was dismissed from the bench for complaining to the referee.

“I indicated to the referee that Santi Mina’s card had to be matched with one for our opponents.

“I complained about it to him but I felt things were exaggerated. I apologise for my attitude.”
