Ultras crisis meeting delayed

The crisis meeting Spanish football authorities were due to hold discuss measures to take against La Liga’s ultra supporters has been delayed.

AS reports that no reason was issued for the postponement until December 22, although the chairman of the commission, Spanish Football Federation (FEF) President Angel Maria Villar [pictured], is in Morocco watching Real Madrid take part in the Club World Cup.

However, the Spanish League (LFP) and the Higher Sports Council (CSD) have taken exception to the decision and have vowed “to take all relevant measures in light of the failure of the FEF to meet its stated commitments, laid out before the LFP and CSD and communicated publicly to the Spanish people”.

The LFP and CSD are understood to be amazed that Villar himself suggested December 15 as the proposed date and Javier Tebas, President of the LFP, commented on his surprising absence.

“Everything that happens at the Federation is abnormal. When dealing with them you have to get used to abnormality,” he declared.

It follows the pitched battle between Frente Atletico and Riazor Blues ultras before the match between Atletico Madrid and Deportivo la Coruna on November 30, when one person lost his life and many more were injured.
