Barcelona B youngster Adama Traore was overjoyed at getting his first goal for the first team in the 8-1 Copa del Rey thrashing of Huesca.
The 18-year-old winger notched the Blaugrana’s seventh goal with a mazy run four minutes after coming on as a second-half substitute and could not hide his delight.
I’m happy at the opportunity Luis Enrique and the coaches gave me. It’s a great feeling to be able to play with the first team,” he told Barca’s official website.
“It’s exciting for any youth player to share a dressing room with such great players.
“I thought I brought speed and power to the team but I know I need to continue improving to be a complete player and to be able to compete with these guys.
“I’ll do my best with the B team and if Luis Enrique calls me then I’ll be happy to help.”
Adama praised the attitude of his teammates against the minnows after taking a 4-0 lead into the tie from the first leg.
“I think Barca’s philosophy is that if the team wins and scores a lot of goals we should respect the other teams on the pitch,” he explained.
