Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas has urged his teammates not to be complacent and to remain focused on each game as it comes.
Los Blancos have set a new Spanish record in winning their last 20 matches and this week are in Morocco to take part in the Club World Cup, hoping to pick up their fourth trophy of 2014.
Nonetheless, the Costa Rica international believes the players must concentrate for the full 90 minutes in every game they play, or they will risk coming back down to earth with a bump.
“We must be prepared to close games out and stay focused. This team cannot make mistakes and must concentrate 100 per cent,” Navas told the club’s official website.
“Every victory is celebrated and we are delighted when we win, although we know we are at a winning club where you must triumph, so every game brings us closer to our aim of becoming champions.”
Navas says he is excited just to be playing for a club of Madrid’s stature and is enjoying life at the Santiago Bernabeu, particularly when it comes to Champions League games.
“It’s amazing to be at Real Madrid. This is a dream for any player and when it becomes a reality it’s difficult to explain.
“I look back on everything I’ve been through to get here. Playing in the Champions League…I enjoyed it from the minute we left the dressing room.
“The only way I’d heard the anthem before was on television and it was a dream come true to actually be there,” he enthused.
