Alves to miss Huesca tie

Dani Alves will miss the second leg of Barcelona's Copa del Rey tie against Huesca on Tuesday with a thigh strain.

The defender was withdrawn during the second half of the Catalan giants' goalless draw at Getafe on Saturday, and the club have today confirmed via their official website that he will not be fit in time for the visit of the Segunda B side, while he could also miss next weekend's La Liga encounter with Cordoba.

Alves' knock poses a recurring problem at right-back for Coach Luis Enrique, who appears to have no faith in his other recognised options Martin Montoya and Douglas Pereira.

The Brazilian's absence against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League last Wednesday forced the trainer into adopting an unusual 3-5-1-1 formation, with Marc Bartra coming into the side at centre-back and Pedro Rodriguez assuming wing duties on the right.

On the flip side, there is better news for Neymar. The attacker missed the match at Coliseum Alfonso Perez but stepped up individual training on Sunday.
