‘Silva shouldn’t move in January’

The father of Lucas Silva has revealed that he would prefer the Real Madrid target to stay at Cruzeiro until the summer.

The midfielder has been hotly tipped to join Los Blancos for €15m in January, but Miguel Viera is adamant that his son must first fufil all of his duties with the Brazilian club before he can consider a switch to the Santiago Bernabeu.

"The aim of Lucas, and therefore the family, is that he leaves in half a year's time, in the month of June," he told MG Superesportes.

"Negotiations are closed for now, but he can go in half a year. The most important thing for Lucas is that he completes pre-season with the rest of his team and represents Cruzeiro in the Copa Libertadores.

"Once everything is agreed, we'll move to Spain to support and accompany him during his period of adaptation to the team and city."
