Ernesto Valverde revealed his desire to see last season's Athletic Bilbao return ahead of Wednesday's Champions League match with BATE Borisov.
The Basque side are unable to qualify from Group H, having picked up just four points from five games, but they can secure a place in the Europa League knockouts with a draw against the Belarusians.
"We'll see Aritz [Aduriz] in training, assess his situation and feelings and if we can run any risks ahead of the upcoming matches," he said at a Press conference.
"I spoke to Iker [Muniain] about improving on a few things, which can come in handy for us.
"He knows he can give us much more than he has done, but he has some physical discomfort.
"He's given us a lot in the past and hopefully will start giving more from an attacking standpoint.
"Aduriz and Guillermo's problems are similar. Williams was 50-50, Iraola isn't 100 percent, Benat and [Xabier] Etxeita may find it difficult to play, while [Carlos] Gurpegui is suspended.
"[Filip] Mladenovic's absence is important as he gives BATE a lot, [Denis] Polyakov also, while [Yegor] Filipenko has recovered.
"They were very direct with [Mikalay] Signevich up top, and we weren't too diligent with our defending. We must be attentive to their attacking moves.
"There were positive things in the first match, but the most negative was the result and some of our play in the first half.
"I hope more players attack this time around. [Markel] Susaeta, Muniain, Ibai [Gomez] can give more, Viguera scored a goal out of nothing at Alcoyano.
"We have to look more towards the style of Athletic. Sometimes I have the feeling that we take too many touches on the ball.
"The combinations are not the goal, the net is the goal. If you combine and don't attack, it doesn't make sense.
"We have to play with more forcefulness in attack. Contrary to the previous year, the team aren't as reliable against mid and lower-table teams.
"We struggle against teams that sit back. We don't sink our teeth enough into them, and they end up catching us on the break. It's dangerous."
