‘Valencia deserve more points’

Nuno Santo insists Valencia deserve to have accumulated more points in La Liga but admits they need to stop the rot.

Los Che have fallen out of the Champions League reckoning after two successive League defeats, but the Coach is desperate to see his side adopt a ruthless streak in their play, starting with Sunday's trip to Granada.

"To be in the Champions League, we must add many more points," he admitted to reporters at a Press conference.

"The first assessment will be at the end of the season's first lap. We've already dropped 18 points, but 70 points may be enough to make the top four.

"I think the team have done enough to earn more points than they have. Sometimes you score without playing well and vice versa.

"Our idea of the game is clear. We want to play with a high tempo and be quick in attack. Often, we haven't been able to do that, so we have to adjust to our opponents.

"Granada will go out to play their game. I expect an open match, the opponents will look to attack us, so we'll try to counter them.

"They have good strikers and midfield with Iturra and Fran Rico. We know when to suffer and when to defend.”
