Berizzo: Goal destabilised Celta

Eduardo Berizzo lamented Real Madrid's first goal during Celta Vigo's 3-0 defeat at the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday.

The Galicians fell to Cristiano Ronaldo's record-breaking hat-trick, and the Coach confessed the forward's opening strike – a controversial penalty – changed the dynamics of the match, despite acknowledging that the result was 'fair'.

"I don't know if Madrid deserved three goals, but the result was fair," he told assembled journalists after the game.

"The first goal destabilised the match, and then with two counterattacks Madrid closed the match.

"We knew the dangers of losing possession. The match had a before and after the first goal.

"The goal changed the course of the game, and then we were punished by two more goals.

"We played fluently but without depth. We didn't create much danger.

"My players say it wasn't a penalty [in the build-up to Ronaldo's penalty], but I don't want to discuss the failure of the referee."
