Carlo Ancelotti has warned Real Madrid not to let up when Celta Vigo visit Santiago Bernabeu this weekend.
Madrid went a record 17th game unbeaten with the midweek win over Cornella and there was a dinner for the coaching staff held this week.
Ancelotti insisted at a Press conference prior to the visit of Celta that it wasn’t a celebratory dinner, denied there were anti-Atletico Madrid songs sung, and called for his team to maintain their form.
“[The coaches] have been working well, like the players. The staff is serious and professional, a large family that respects each other,” he said, AS reports.
“It was a dinner of appreciation. The record wasn’t mentioned. What we’re concerned about is playing well. To have a good environment we need to keep winning.
“I didn’t hear any chants against Atletico but that wouldn’t be good or correct. There was a dancer but I don’t know if anything happened.
“Celta play a little differently from last year. Their results speak for themselves. They won at Camp Nou and drew with Atletico.
“They’re a forceful and aggressive team. We need the Madrid that has played in recent games.
“[Karim] Benzema is playing in a very good team. He enjoys he teammates and his teammates enjoy him.
“It’s hard to say if we can improve. I think so. I don’t put limits on improvement.
“There fans are looking forward to the match a lot. We’ve noticed it in the streets and in the stadium. Tomorrow it will be the same. Santiago Bernabeu will help us.”
