Nyom & Pereira on Barca list?

Allan Nyom and Joao Pereira have been mooted as possible signings to bolster Barcelona’s options at right-back.

Mundo Deportivo reports that the Catalans are looking into how they can provide support to Dani Alves when Luis Enrique lacks faith in Martin Montoya and Douglas.

Barca are also subject to a transfer embargo but there is a belief they can exploit a loophole that allows for signings of free agents or players in the same division.

Thomas Vermaelen’s long-term injury could allow Barca to make a signing under LFP regulations, which provide for an emergency transfer in the case of serious injury.

Nyom, on loan at Granada from Udinese, has been mooted and a fee of €5m has been suggested, with Barca attracted to his physical prowess.

Pereira, meanwhile, has been told he can leave Valencia and Barca are monitoring the situation, MD claim.

Montoya is expected to leave Camp Nou in the winter transfer window after growing discontented with not playing, while Douglas has featured only rarely since his move from Sao Paulo.

Adriano, usually a left-back, has been Alves’ back-up, and MD note that Adriano is naturally more comfortable on his right side than his left.

Alves is also in his final year at Barca and it’s acknowledged that neither Pereira nor Nyom are long-term solutions to replacing the Brazilian.
