Silva: Madrid would be a dream

Cruzeiro midfielder Lucas Silva says it would be a dream to play for Real Madrid in light of recent interest shown in him by Los Blancos.

The 21-year-old has been on Carlo Ancelotti’s radar for some time and the player admits the Spanish giants have spoken to his representative, although a concrete offer is yet to be made.

Speaking to SporTV, Silva revealed he was unsure if Madrid wanted him in the next transfer window or were willing to wait until the end of the 2014-15 campaign.

“I don’t know what they are going to propose, whether they want me in the middle of the season or at the end and I stay for the Copa Libertadores,” he conceded.

“I still don’t know what will happen, but it would be interesting to stay for the Libertadores and then join up with the rest of the players for pre-season.

“Negotiations are still open but if they do take shape it will be dream to play for Madrid.”

Silva was named best defensive midfielder in the Brazilian League, which finishes next weekend, with his club already having claimed the title.

Meanwhile, Madrid are not the only club to be chasing his signature, with Arsenal and Manchester United both understood to be interested.
