Azpilicueta: No interest in return

Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta says he has no interest in a return to La Liga in light of interest from Barcelona and Real Madrid.

The Spain international has been a key performer at Stamford Bridge since his €8.8m move from Marseille in August 2012, having joined the French outfit from hometown club Osasuna two years previously.

His displays for Jose Mourinho’s team have recently seen him linked with a move back to his homeland, although it is something he dismisses out of hand.

“I don’t think about it because I’m happy here. I follow La Liga but don’t think of going back there,” Azpilicueta was quoted as saying by the London Evening Standard.

“I’m really enjoying London now. I prefer the Premier League and I’m eager to improve.

“I’ve always worked to be one of the best and it’s clear that the more you achieve then the more pressure you have.

“But I can still improve a lot. Whenever I watch a game I try to look at others who play in my position because they teach me things to improve myself.

“I’m lucky to train with some great defenders and they are also an example for me,” he explained.
