Nuno ‘frustrated’ by Barca defeat

Nuno Santo revealed his 'deep frustration' with Valencia's 1-0 defeat to Barcelona on Sunday.

Los Che succumbed to Sergio Busquets' goal with just seconds of the match to spare, and despite the Coach insisting that his side did everything they could to compete with the Catalan giants, he was nonetheless ‘very proud’ of their efforts.

"We lost the match in the final seconds and did not deserve this result," he told reporters after the encounter at Mestalla.

"We had a good match like we hoped we would and created chances in the second half.

"We were very well organised and dealt with almost everything they threw at us. We knew the quality of our opponents.

"I'm deeply frustrated, and the players are too. And before you ask me, yes, we’ve lost two games, I was wrong.

"We had moments when Barca's possession forced us down the pitch, but we also had times when we pressed high.

"You have to know when to press, so we did very well in that regard. We had some very clear chances too.

"We left Mestalla saddened by the loss. The team did their fans proud. With this kind of performance, we'll win many more games.

"Have you felt cramp before? [Parejo] ran many miles [hence his substitution]. Like everyone else, he ran a lot. I'm very proud of my players."
