Real Madrid will complete the signing of young Real Mallorca winger Marco Asensio ‘within a matter of hours.’
AS report that the fee for the 18-year-old will be in the region of €3.7m and the deal will be go through at the end of the season.
Asensio will sign a five-year contract with Los Blancos and, should Mallorca win promotion to the Primera, be loaned back to his current club for next season.
Mallorca will also get a preferred option on signings from RM Castilla while Barcelona stand to miss out on Asensio as he had already given his word to Madrid when La Blaugrana made their interest known.
The island club agreed not to listen to other offers when Asensio indicated he wanted to go to Madrid out of respect for his conduct and remaining with the club in the summer.
Mallorca’s board will meet in the week to sign off on the transfer, with Tuesday expected to be the pivotal day.
