Emery expecting difficult Granada

Unai Emery believes Granada will be difficult opposition after a run that has brought Sevilla down to Earth.

Emery told reflected on three League games without a win and the impact the poor form has had on his team’s campaign.

“Three rounds ago the team played a match to go top of the League. Now we don’t see that situation,” he acknowledged.

“We are aware we have 23 points from 12 games. We have to reaffirm that, recover winning sensations and taking three points is the goal.

“But we have to also recover that energy and that hope. There must be a mood to get higher up, be stronger at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.

“The League is putting everyone in their place. Granada started well and now have to rediscover those sensations.

“Each team is looking for their place and it’s very competitive. They had a great game [against Celta] and they will be confident. It will be difficult for us.

“No one can question Joaquin Caparros’ work. No one with any credibility can. He deserves a lot of credit.

“Tomorrow is an opportunity and I want to give the players the confidence to do it right. Granada have a very good counter-attack with very strong players.”
