Sergio: Levante game a final

Espanyol Coach Sergio believes the home game with Levante carries more importance than usual considering his team’s bad run.

It’s now five games without a win for Espanyol and they are only a point clear of the bottom three, with Levante a point better off.

Sergio told his pre-match Press conference that every game is important, but the game against Levante is more important than most.

“Every game is a final but when you’re in such an extreme situation, it’s a final in itself,” he said.

“It’s important everyone knows what needs to be improved and steps forward. The revolution must be psychological, in the head. We have to believe and compete.

“Every game you play and don’t win is another stone thrown at you. You don’t need anyone to tell you. That’s football.

“It will be the same Levante we know, very solid last year and with a high level of competitiveness.

“It will be a hard, tough team and they will make it very difficult.”
