Moyes appoints McKinlay at La Real

David Moyes has named for Watford manager Billy McKinlay as his assistant at Real Sociedad, it has been confirmed.

Moyes’ compatriot spent eight days as Hornets boss, replacing Oscar Garcia before he in turn was moved aside for ex-Real Oviedo, Tenerife and Deportivo La Coruna midfielder Slavisa Jokanovic.

McKinlay’s playing days saw spells at Dundee United, Blackburn Rovers and Leicester City before taking a coaching role at Fulham. The 45-year-old was also Northern Ireland assistant manager between 2012 and 2014.
