Silva to Madrid for €12m?

Reports in Spain claim Real Madrid will in January move for Cruzeiro midfielder Lucas Silva after Carl Ancelotti gave his consent.

Marca says Madrid were close to signing the 21-year-old, pictured above, left, in August but stepped back when Sami Khedira remained at the club.

But with Khedira suffering from repeated minor injuries and Luka Modric facing an extended period on the sidelines, Madrid have rekindled their interest in Silva in an effort to bolster their midfield ranks.

Silva is said to have a €15m release clause in his Cruzeiro contract but Madrid are understood to be confident of bringing down the price slightly.

Ancelotti has reportedly agreed to the signing, although it’s believed Silva’s agent, Luis Rocha, has received offers from a number of European clubs.
