Marcelino: Draw very valuable

Marcelino took the positives from Villarreal's 'very valuable' 2-2 draw with Borussia Monchengladbach in the Europa League on Thursday.

The Yellow Submarine squandered the lead twice, courtesy of two wonder strikes from Nando Raffael and Granit Xhaka, to remain second, behind the Germans, in Group A, but the Coach was happy enough with their point.

"It was a pretty sight between two great teams," he mused to reporters after the match.

"Overall, we were the better side, but we failed to convert the superiority we enjoyed in the first half.

"Our opponents were then lucky to score two goals, and it's difficult to see how they got them.

"We were looking for more control in midfield. We were struggling to recover the ball and had prepared for this situation.

"We drew, and we know it means little, but it would have been worse to suffer a defeat.

"On the bright side, we did many things right to get this result. We played a great rival head on, so this draw is very valuable.

"I don't think we need reinforcements because we're already [competitive enough]."
