Atleti game a final, says Marchisio

Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio says the final Champions League Group A clash with Atletico Madrid is going to be like a final.

The Serie A giants defeated Malmo 2-0 on Wednesday to put them within touching distance of qualifying for the knockout stages, with them needing just a point against Diego Simeone’s men from the game in Turin.

“Against Atletico it’s going to be like a final,” said Marchisio in comments reported by UEFA’s official website.

“We played well against them in Madrid, even though we ended up losing the game, but qualification is the most important thing.

“We be trying to win and, if things are going well, we’ll also try to score more and finish first.

“It’s the last game and we’ve gone through a lot in this group, but we’ll be approaching the Atletico game in the best condition possible and must focus on that.

“We’ll try to play well knowing that if results go our way we’ll qualify,” he added.
