Ancelotti: I want 16th win

Carlo Ancelotti has hailed Real Madrid for equalling their record of 15 straight wins but challenged his team to go one better.

Los Blancos matched their best-ever sequence of results set by Miguel Munoz's troops in 1961 and Jose Mourinho’s three years ago thanks to Wednesday’s 1-0 victory over Basel in the Champions League, and the Coach is ready to see his side rewrite history at Malaga this weekend.

"We are group leaders, the team have been great. The players deserve appreciation for what they're doing," he said to reporters after the match.

"It's a fantastic streak, but the season is very long and you have to think about the next game.

"We have to think about improving this winning streak.

"Anything we can do to get ourselves in the club's history is a good thing. A huge amount of credit must go to the players. They are having a fantastic season."
