Xavi has “good feeling” after APOEL

Barcelona midfielder Xavi Hernandez says he has a good feeling about the team following the  4-0 Champions League defeat of APOEL in Nicosia.

A hat-trick from Lionel Messi, who became the competition’s all-time top goalscorer, and Luis Suarez’s opener made it a comfortable evening for the Catalans, who according to Xavi are now getting back on track after their recent stutter.

“I have a good feeling now despite the two recent setbacks and the team has recovered well,” he told the ‘Al Primer Toque’ programme.

“Physically we are fine. We played a magnificent first half and I’m enjoying things. I have a very good relationship with the Coach, and him with me, while I also feel important to the team.”

Xavi went on to comment on Messi surpassing Raul’s Champions League goals record and also mentioned Cristiano Ronaldo.

“Raul had the same hunger as Messi. They always want to do better and they have the same ambition. They and are never satisfied.

“Right now Leo and Cristiano are dealing in stratospheric numbers. Neither of them stops and they are fantastic for football.

“What has been said about Messi is normal, but he’s very happy. We see him in the dressing room in his own environment,” added Xavi.
