Francisco satisfied with Almeria draw

Almeria boss Francisco declared himself satisfied with the point taken at Granada in Monday night’s 0-0 draw.

The visitors had Ramon Azeez sent off on 52 minutes for a second bookable offence but hung on to halt a run of four consecutive defeats, while Granada have failed to win a Primera game in eight attempts.

“I’m happy with the final result because Granada were obliged to win after we had a man sent off,” Francisco told a post-match Press conference.

“Azeez was wrong because he committed an unnecessary foul and that left us with 10 men for a long time, although those that were left on the pitch worked tirelessly.

“There has been a huge commitment to put things right and our opponents demanded we were at 100 per cent, so I congratulate my players on the job they did.

“Our intention was to come here and win but we are realistic and to get a point cost us a lot.

“We’re in a similar situation to last year and must continue to compete so we remain in this division. That’s the aim,” he added.
