Caparros: We just needed a goal

Granada boss Joaquin Caparros stressed his team lacked just one goal following the 0-0 draw with Almeria at Los Carmenes.

The visitors had Ramon Azeez sent off on 52 minutes but Caparros’ men were still unable to break them down and had to be content with a point, having failed to win in the last eight games.

“We knew they were going to be strong but we created a lot of chances. The just lacked a goal,” Caparros told reporters post-match.

“We had a lot of the ball, a lot of possession, and did well out wide without resorting to long balls.

“We showed a lot of patience but lacked the killer instinct to make it pay and were short on confidence.

“However, football is about winning, there’s nothing else, and we must continue this way. The goal didn’t arrive but we’ve got to generate the same intensity and I’m sure in the end it will come.

“We can’t afford to lower our heads and need to clench our fists and carry on,” he added.
