Ter Stegen admits Barca difficulties

Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen has confessed he has found it tough since signing for the club last May.

The 22-year-old joined the Catalans from Borussia Monchengladbach for €12m but is still waiting for his chance to play in La Liga, although he has appeared four times in the Champions League, where he was criticised for his performance in the 3-2 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain.

“Things aren’t easy for me at the moment and I have to be patient, but I’m doing everything I can to prove my worth in training and make it difficult for the Coach,” he told Kicker magazine.

“I’ve put in some good performances, although people always remember the errors, but making mistakes is only human.

“Others such as Manuel Neuer, Iker Casillas and Roman Weidenfeller also make mistakes.”

Ter Stegen acknowledged, however, that there are a lot of differences between Barca and Borussia Monchengladbach.

“One player has won several Ballon d’Ors and others have won European titles and World Cups,” he claimed.
