Moyes: La Real will improve

David Moyes has looked back upon his first game as Real Sociedad Coach, accepting the draw with Deportivo La Coruna may have been fair.

The game at Riazor ended goalless and Moyes told reporters after the match that although he wanted to see his side pick up three points, one was probably justified.

“It was a great experience and I’m excited to debut in the League. It’s true I don’t know the players that well but I’m happy to be here and gradually we will improve,” he said, Marca reports.

“The first half was good and we were far superior. The second half was a little disappointing and Deportivo were better.

“I wanted to win and I’m not happy with the draw because we worked hard, but in the end we can say it is a fair point.”

Moyes was also involved in a contretemps with the assistant of Deportivo counterpart Victor Fernandez, Roberto Cabellud, who reacted furiously to an incident while the Scot kept his cool.

“I don’t know what happened. I was on my bench, he was on his, but he did seem a little angry,” the ex-Everton and Manchester United manager noted.

La Real’s trip to A Coruna was disrupted by bad weather in the region, the aeroplane having to be diverted to Santiago de Compostela due to the conditions.
