Zidane wins ban appeal

Zinidine Zidane will resume his position as Real Madrid Castilla Coach after his appeal against a three-month ban was upheld.

It was reported earlier on Friday and confirmed by the club on Friday evening that Zidane and his assistant, Santiago Sanchez, had been successful in appealing to the Administrative Court for Sport.

Madrid presented a letter from the French Football Federation that confirmed Zidane has his UEFA A Licence and is working on the Pro Licence needed to work as a Coach, Marca reports. He had initially been suspended for lacking the correct qualification.

The fine imposed has also been quashed and Sanchez, who was banned for allowing his coaching credentials to be used to give cover to Zidane, is also granted clemency.
