Enrique: Barca have to improve

Luis Enrique wants to see a better Barcelona after the international break, acknowledging their form hasn’t been good enough.

Barca host Sevilla at Camp Nou on Saturday having beaten Almeria in their last League outing, coming from behind to claim the win.

“We have a lot of improving to do, from attacking and defensive aspects,” Enrique said, AS reports.

“We need to give our opponents fewer chances to score.

“There is always a minimal margin of error and it’s more in these situations. Last season the League wasn’t decided until the last minute.

“I hope the League is open all the way. There’s still room for error.

“We’ve identified and worked on where we need to improve. The second half at Almeria wasn’t bad because we turned the game round. We’ll see if can do it.”

Enrique added he isn’t concerned about the impact of the international break as those players away with their countries have been kept sharp by playing and the others have been training.

“Most of the players were with their national team. The rest did physical and technical work,” he confirmed.

“The team looks good to me and we’re looking forward to this game. We’re ending the year on a good line.

“We can work on individual aspects but not in more than two group sessions so we don’t overburden the players physically.

“Sevilla are going to press high and can cause us problems with their play. We’re concentrated on the transitions.”
