Reports in Spain and Italy claim Carles Puyol was offered the chance to assist Roberto Mancini at Inter, but turned down the approach.
Mundo Deportivo cite a story from Gazzetta Dello Sport that says Mancini called Puyol personally to ask him to join him on the bench.
But Puyol turned down the opportunity as he wants to continue working alongside sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta.
Puyol is though on a course to earn his coaching badges with a view to working as a trainer in the future.
