Barcelona will look to renew Neymar’s contract in 2016, reports in Spain claim, with the current board to use the forward as an election tactic.
AS say Josep Maria Bartomeu will extend Neymar’s deal as part of his re-election campaign, with the vote to be held in two years’ time.
Neymar will get a much-improved contract in return, although there is the chance that Bartomeu will call elections for summer 2015, depending on how Barca’s season progresses.
Bartomeu assumed office earlier in 2014 when Sandro Rosell resigned, in part because of the controversy over the signing of Neymar.
