Moyes gets Irvine backing

West Bromwich Albion manager Alan Irvine believes David Moyes will relish the opportunity of coaching Real Sociedad.

Irvine was assistant to Moyes in his time with Everton and feels the Scot will be looking forward to rebuilding his reputation in Spain following his sacking by Manchester United last April.

“I think he’ll love it and will relish the opportunity,” Irvine told Sky Sports News.

“He told me a number of years ago he would like the challenge of managing abroad at some time in his career.

“It’s probably come a bit earlier than he expected, especially after getting the Manchester United job, but I think he will do really well.

“He’s one of the top managers and will quickly work out what is needed in Spain.”
