Loss a bad taste says Camacho

Ignacio Camacho admitted that Spain's 1-0 defeat to Germany left a 'bad taste' in his mouth and those of his compatriots.

The Malaga midfielder tonight made his Roja debut against the world champions in Vigo, and although he is keen to sample more international football in the future, he was disappointed with the outcome of his first experience.

“The match became ugly with the very heavy pitch, and it’s left a bad taste in our mouths because you always want to win,” Camacho noted after the match.

“The pitch was very, very bad, but it's not an excuse. We played well enough and tried our best. Germany played from the back with five defenders and were comfortable. In the second half came the misfortune of conceding a goal.

“I'm enjoying playing alongside the great captains who I've always wanted to play with.

“I don't believe in circumstances, I believe in work. If I'm here, it means that I've done well for my club, and the Coach has found it necessary to call me up. I have to keep working hard, and if things go well then why not?”
