Vicente del Bosque has downplayed the significance of Spain's 1-0 defeat to Germany, claiming that the side are 'in transition'.
La Roja crashed to their third defeat in six matches since the World Cup following Toni Kroos' late goal at the Balaidos tonight, but their Coach insisted that the future remained bright for his new-look team.
“We are in a period of transition and we want to continue looking to the future with optimism, but we are not entirely happy with the outcome,” Del Bosque mused to reporters after the final whistle.
“I agree with the assessment that it was an even, balanced game, and we showed that we could outplay them, but we must praise Kroos' goal.”
