Suarez: Goals against England my best

Luis Suarez says the two goals he scored against England in last summer’s World Cup were the most satisfying of his career.

The Uruguayan notched a brace in Sao Paolo upon his return from injury to ensure a 2-1 victory over the English, who he says were wishing his comeback could have been delayed until after the game.

“The two I got against England were the most enjoyable of my football career. They were laughing at me when I had surgery [before the World Cup].

“They were saying ‘recover…but slowly’ and I cried with joy after that, both for myself and my family,” revealed Suarez in an interview with Fox Sports.

The Barcelona striker also spoke of the bite on Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini that earned him a four-month ban from football.

“Everyone can say what they think and they can talk without knowing anything about it.

“My wife says to me ‘if you are like that on the pitch imagine what they think you are like off it’”.

“And no, at home I hang my head in shame like most men would, but what hurts is that I’m remembered for the bite.”
