Del Bosque: Isco is important to Spain

Vicente del Bosque says Real Madrid midfielder Isco is important to Spain and clarified his comments after the Belarus win.

Del Bosque appeared to criticise Isco for being too extravagant in the weekend victory, where Isco made his first start and scored his first goal for the senior Roja team.

But the Coach, speaking at a Press conference to preview Tuesday’s game against Germany, discussed Isco and explained what he meant.

“Isco is one of the most important things to have happened lately,” AS quote Del Bosque as saying.

“He’s adapted fully and quickly to the rhythm of the national team. It’s not a surprise, I’ve known him since he was 15 or 16. He’s long demonstrated his qualities, at his first clubs, with Madrid and in the teams below the seniors.

“Isco is very good and he put in a great performance. He’s great and that’s why he’s here.

“I did want to explain my references to football art that were focused on Isco. That’s not the case and I don’t speak like that in public or private.”

Del Bosque also commended Paco Alcacer and confirmed Iker Casillas’ future with the national team was linked to his involvement at club level.

It was also said that anyone who wasn’t involved against Belarus can expect to feature in some fashion against Germany.

“We’ll have Iker as long as he is playing for Madrid,” Del Bosque revealed.

“Alcacer has always proven he is a goal scorer. We trust him. Time will tell if that goes right or not.

“We’ll try and play everyone who hasn’t played yet. But our concept of the game shouldn’t change.”
