Del Bosque looking for confidence boost

Vicente del Bosque believes a Spain win over Germany in Vigo on Tuesday would be a major boost to La Roja’s confidence.

Del Bosque has held his pre-match Press conference and touched on a number of subjects, starting with the importance of the game, the location and the new cycle of international tournament qualifiers.

“There are a lot of people supporting us. That was the case in Huelva [against Belarus on Saturday] and I’m sure the same will happen in Vigo,” Del Bosque said, AS reports.

“In this kind of game there isn’t much difference between a friendly and an official fixture. We are two good teams with a good relationship.

“Germany have always behaved very well towards us. There is a great relationship with [Germany Coach] Joachim Low because he has conducted himself well after defeats.

“Their behaviour has always been correct and they have shown the right character for sportsmen. One of the demands of sport is to show this behaviour.

“We want to play well and put on a show. The players want to maintain their high level and we want to keep the good form we’ve had since the end of the World Cup and raise our confidence.

“We got three important points but it’s important to appreciate that we played very well at times, especially in the first half. In the second half we were more relaxed but we got three vital points.

“The year is ending and in my time as Coach we’ve won and lost. It’s taught us how to be in defeat and in victory. Four years ago we learned to win and now we’ve learned to lose.

“We’re preparing for the future the best way we know.”
