Isco: Maybe I tried too much

Isco admits he may have been guilty of indulging in too much 'elegant' football during Spain's 3-0 victory over Belarus on Saturday.

The midfielder was accused of playing over-elaborately by his Coach Vicente del Bosque following last night’s Euro 2016 qualifier, and the 23-year-old has pledged to learn from his 'sins' and make the necessary adjustments to his game.

“I've taken [Del Bosque's comments] on board, but this is football. I like having fun, perhaps I sinned by wanting to play [too] attractively, so I hope to learn from this," he noted in a Press conference.

“A player must become accustomed to both praise and criticism. I'm grateful for the warmth of the fans and the support of my colleagues and very happy with how I've turned things around. I hope it continues like this.

“I know it's hard to earn a guaranteed place at Real Madrid, so I'll try to make every minute and every game count towards helping the team.

“Every game is different, a new opportunity for me to show my skills and help the national team and Real Madrid.

“I'll try to work hard and improve every day because I'm only 22. One never tires of improving, so I want to keep working on the defensive side to my game, as well as my use of the ball and ability to score goals. I don't want to tire from learning.

“We have won many titles, and they are the basis for the whole team because that is where we begin to create attacking moves in the selection are players. We have very good players in that position.”
