Morata ‘couldn’t turn down Juventus’

Alvaro Morata has said the offer to join Juventus was one he couldn’t turn down and discussed the differences between Spain and Italy.

The former Real Madrid striker appeared on ‘El Café de la Roja’ and revealed the identity of the Juventus player who accompanied him to the dentist, among other comments on life in Serie A.

“I got an opportunity I couldn’t turn down. When it’s a team like Juventus you want to be important there but there are still things to do to be a starter,” he said, AS reports.

“But I’ve adapted quickly to the country and the way they play there.

“Italy is evolving and there are teams with potential and beautiful football is played a bit more. Some people say Serie A is boring and hard to watch, and it’s true there is a lot of tactics.

“I’m doing the opposite there, where in Madrid I was accustomed to running towards goal and running to retrieve the ball.

“In Italy you have to get behind the ball to get it back and your movements depend on the rest of the team. There’s an hour a day of personal video and computer footage and no one gets away from it.

“How is Chiellini after Suarez bit him? He’s a phenomenon! One day he took me to the dentist.

“I don’t know if Madrid have a buy-back clause. Juanma Lopez [Morata’s agent] and my father would know.

“I am very happy at Juventus and I have to repay the confidence they have placed in me and to have the best time possible.”
