Kramer ‘honoured’ by Madrid link

Christoph Kramer insists he hasn’t had an offer from Real Madrid but admits he is honoured to be mentioned in connection with Los Blancos.

Rumors circulated earlier in the week that Madrid were keen on the Germany international, who was in the squad to play Spain on Tuesday but has since been ruled out through injury.

Marca reports Kramer telling a local German publication that Madrid have long been one of his favourite clubs, so he is flattered by the gossip.

“That Madrid are interested in me is a great honour. When I was younger, in my childhood, my two favourite teams were Madrid and Manchester United,” the midfielder revealed.

“I will do what is best for me and I still haven’t decided anything.

“I end my time at Gladbach this season and returning to Bayer Leverkusen is an option for me. Roger Schmidt is a good Coach who plays good football so I think I would fit in well.”
