Morata ‘working harder’ at Juventus

Alvaro Morata believes leaving Real Madrid for Juventus has made him grow up ahead of an expected Spain debut.

Morata swapped Madrid for Turin and has been named in the squad to play Belarus and Germany, wearing the No.10 shirt that usually goes to Cesc Fabregas.

Cesc and his Chelsea teammate Diego Costa aren’t with La Roja and it is the absence of the latter that could give Morata his chance.

Morata has said in an interview with Marca that he has become a more rounded player in his time in Serie A as he has had to get used to being more on his own, without the comfort of his home life.

“When you leave home, your city and your surroundings, to play, it opens you up, not only professionally but in your head,” he said.

“You have to work harder. There is no other choice.

“Last year, in Madrid, if things didn’t go well I was more protected. My parents come to Turin very often, my girlfriend when she can, my friends…there aren’t so many people here when you fail.

“I’m not a player who when I fail I hide my head. If I fail, I fail. Now I move on to what’s next.”
