Former Man Utd striker backing Moyes

Former Manchester United striker Terry Gibson is backing David Moyes to be a success as Real Sociedad boss.

Moyes has chosen to make his return to football with the Basques, his first job since being sacked at Manchester United last April, and will be officially unveiled on Wednesday.

It is a decision that Gibson, now a Spanish football pundit on Sky Sports, reckons is the right one and will see the Scot rebuild his reputation at Anoeta.

“I think he is a really good fit for Real Sociedad,” Gibson told Talksport’s Hawksbee and Jacobs programme.

“The Spanish style is different but La Real are one of those teams that like to play direct football.

“They always seem to rely on a big, strong centre-forward, which they have got, so it won’t be a massive change for him.

“The players there are waiting for someone who is a leader, which they didn’t have with the last Coach.

“They’ve been crying out for that kind of person and they’ve now got one in David Moyes,” he declared.
