USA planning Guardiola offer

The United States Soccer Federation (USSF) wants Pep Guardiola as USA national team boss for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

According to MLSSoccer.com, the Americans see the Bayern Munich tactician as the man to lead them in the Middle East, and they plan to hold talks with him shortly to see if he is receptive to the idea.

The 43-year-old’s contract with the Bundesliga giants expires in 2016 and it is understood he has already been sounded out for a number of other jobs after that, particularly in the Premier League.

However, the former Barcelona Coach does not want to consider his long-term options just yet, given his immediate priority is to try and achieve Champions League success with Bayern.

Nonetheless, the USSF is unlikely to be deterred and intend to ask Guardiola if he might be available by the time the tournament comes around.
