Pique ‘considering Barca options’

Gerard Pique will consider his options at Barcelona over the international break, reports in Spain suggest, as he falls down the club’s pecking order.

Mundo Deportivo claim Pique is the fourth-choice centre-back under Luis Enrique and the feeling is that the reasons are not related to his performances.

And Enrique’s stubbornness, MD add, could mean Pique has no way back into the Coach’s good books and the defender is forced to look elsewhere.

Pique has 15 days away from Camp Nou as Spain duty takes precedence and MD say he will think over the situation in that time.

If he is involved from the start in the home game against Sevilla and the trip to Valencia that immediately follow the internationals, then his future will be settled.

But if not, Pique could look at getting out of the club in the January transfer window, although the situation is complicated further by Barca’s transfer embargo.

They wouldn’t be able to sign a replacement but Pique is considered unlikely to accept being the fourth choice of four central defenders.
