Sergio: A game of two halves…

Sergio rated Espanyol’s first half against Villarreal as very poor but was much happier with his side’s showing after the break.

The game finished 1-1 thanks to Diego Colotto’s last-gasp equaliser for Los Periquitos, Mario having put the Yellow Submarine in front inside half-an-hour.

“The first half was the worst we have played at home,” he said, AS reports.

“In desire, intensity and attitude the team was different [in the second half]. That is the way to go and in the end we got the prize of a goal.”

Sergio added that the upcoming international break was well-timed from his point of view, as he can think over new options for the team.

“I want to consider new ideas and review some concepts,” he said.

“From here we’ll work and think about the next opponent. We have to do a reset from there.”
