Berizzo ‘settles’ for a draw

Eduardo Berizzo wasn’t too unhappy with Celta Vigo’s goalless draw against Granada after the way the game developed.

Celta hosted El Grana a week after beating Barcelona at Camp Nou but were unable to find a way past Joaquin Caparros’ side.

Speaking to reporters after the match, Berizzo revealed he was taking comfort in the knowledge that a draw was better than a defeat.

“We were slower than we needed to be and it was a very predictable game with the defensive work of Granada,” he said, AS reports.

“I liked my team more in the second half and we had three chances to score. Sometimes you want to score and other times you settle for a draw.

“We were too slow and that made our attacks more predictable than expected. It’s fair to say with their counter-attacks Granada caused danger and maybe we’d be talking about a defeat.

“Numerically speaking, we assess and revise the first half to correct the mistakes we made with the ball.”
