‘Celta won’t relax against Granada’

Eduardo Berizzo is sure Celta Vigo will stay alert against Granada and not rest on the laurels of beating Barcelona.

Celta claimed a famous victory at Camp Nou through a Joaquin Larrivey goal and this weekend host El Grana, with Berizzo arguing the win over the Catalans makes Celta more vulnerable.

“Having won at Barca, Granada is now a more dangerous team with the speed of their attackers,” he said, Marca reports.

“Our alarms have to be on because this is a trap of a game.

“We have to be careful so it doesn’t happen to us and we resolve the game with intelligence, aggression in defence and the patience needed on the ball so their defence can’t stop us.

“Throughout the week we emphasized that having won at Camp Nou we have to strengthen, but nothing more.

“What we did against Barca won’t be worth anything against Granada. We need a lot of mobility to overcome a defence that forces you to run a lot. We won’t relex.”

Berizzo also commended Nolito on getting a place in the Spain squad, rating the forward’s call-up as good for the player and for Celta.

“The kid deserves it. He’s having a very good season and it’s a big jump to the national team,” he added.

“I’m happy for him, his teammates that helped him to the national team and for the club.”
