La Real ‘want to confirm Moyes’

Real Sociedad President Joakin Aperribay is to meet again with David Moyes and reports claim the Scot’s appointment could be confirmed soon.

AS say that Aperribay will lead a Txuri-urdin contingent to speak again with the former Everton and Manchester United manager and want to tie Moyes down.

If they cannot get Moyes to commit to taking over from Jagoba Arrasate then they will turn to one of the other names on the shortlist.

La Real have made an offer to Moyes but he has yet to accept. Moyes is said to be weighing up the idea of bringing his family to Spain and establishing if his regular backroom team would go with him.

It’s said that the club are willing to pay Moyes well but less than he would earn if he took a job in England, and they have also accepted Moyes will appoint Phil Neville as his assistant.

Moyes would be given a contract that extends past the end of the current season but if the club doesn’t get a positive answer, there are alternatives already lined up.

Former Real Betis and West Bromwich Albion Coach Pepe Mel leads the way and it is known Mel would accept the post.

Former Portugal Coach Paulo Bento is also a contender after meeting Aperribay in London last week and is behind Mel on the shortlist.

AS add that Quique Sanchez Flores, Juande Ramos and Alejandro Sabella are not in the race to take over at Anoeta.
